Our mission is to educate others about redeye bass and their conservation needs, while celebrating the unique pursuit that is fly fishing for them. We hope that spending time on the small streams will foster a deeper love and appreciation for them, essentially making redeye bass a driver for understanding and promoting watershed-level conservation.

While people all over the south have been fishing for redeye bass for some time, it has become more mainstream in the last five years. Much of this has to do with the 2018 book release of Fly Fishing for Redeye Bass: An Adventure Across Southern Waters written by Dr. Matthew R. Lewis. Dr. Lewis’ goal was to disguise the book as a “how to” guide for pursuing these mesmerizing fish, but the book was really a call to action for the fish and they waters they call home.
